“Had a lot of fun; game is well designed and the theme goes well with all the actions..”
The game is simple and allows you to use complex strategies to gain points depending on the actions of your opponent and the number of players. It reminds me of 7 wonders, Catan and Cyclades. The cyberpunk theme gives a more playful aspect and a touch of history/lore. I had a lot of fun; the game is well designed and the theme goes well with all the actions you take.

“Game was catanistic! The world and the concept of the game are wonderful…”
The game was catanistic! The world and the concept of the game are wonderful; there are a lot of options to choose from, but you have to watch every step you take. What we liked the most is that you build pipes to send your troops through, this makes the game more difficult, but it was great because then you have to think about the next action. It’s a game you want to replay, buy, explore and has beautiful world building that all cyberpunk fans would love.

“Gameplay was very fluid; similarities with Terraforming Mars and Everdell...”
The gameplay was very fluid, once everyone was up to speed with the rules. There were some similarities to games everyone knows and loves, in our case Terraforming Mars and Everdell. The plus side for Cytress is the streamlined resource collection and the structured round sequence. The theme is really well presented with the artstyle and blends well with the mechanics.

“Well structured and easy to understand; could easily see it hitting the shelves…”
The gameplay is well structured and easy to understand. The art of the game is top drawer. Since it’s mainly consisting of cards and boards I could easily see it hitting the shelves. The game offered enough variety and strategic choices to have decent replayability. To summarise – Very well made game. I could see it being a success on Kickstarter.

Meet the Designer
History
Sean’s passion for storytelling and games led to the idea of combining both in a board game. Cytress was designed in an attempt to his story through his games.
Process
Sean’s design process of Cytress is to combine fun mechanics with a rich, enveloping backstory, variable player powers, and stunning artwork.
Inspiration
Sean’s inspiration for the gameplay system comes from his favourite games like Terraforming Mars and Everdell with minor influences from Catan and Scythe.
Challenges
Sean’s main challenges was the balance between increasing the complexity in strategies all while maintaining the simplicity of the action and player choices.
